Have you ever wonder to have an icon for “HELP” or “INFO”
As dashboard designer, we search online or try to generate icons based on the need – (I personally have done several times based on dashboard color/theme – looking for transparent logo or white background image or black background image)
With Tableau – this can be easily configured using shapes
Expected Result : Question Mark with BLUE Color Background & White Color “?” symbol
Step 01: Go to sheet – create an calculated field with name as “Help” & value as “?” – as my requirement is to display “?” as an info icon
Step 02: In your blank worksheet – add “Help” calculated field into “Label” section
Step 03: Click “Label” to view below properties
Step 04: Under “Alignment” click center alignment for horizontal & vertical as well “Center”
Step 05: Change color of background and text as per your need
Step 06: Tool tip as per your need to define (it is easy to define in Tableau – Love it!!)
Step 07: Boom – your logo is ready now 🙂 You can now add to the dashboard as floating object or tiled object according to your need. You can do format of work sheet background according to your dashboard
