The amount of data that MicroStrategy Analytics Desktop 10.x can handle will depend directly on the machines resources where Desktop is running. More specifically, the amount of RAM the machine has available when the intelligent cube gets created during In-Memory Data Import.
NOTE: There is an inherent limit specific to importing Excel files due to using an internal Java component to extract the data from Excel files. It is recommended that the Excel file size should not exceed 1GB as the java heap size of the JVM is configured to be 1GB.
